Need help learning?

Do you encounter problems while learning? Need help learning? Do you find it difficult to concentrate? Do you have a problem concentrating during the learning process? Maybe you have a hard time remembering things?

If you answered yes to any of the above questions, we invite you to read on.

What affects our concentration?

What is concentration? Concentration is key to learning, and a lack of it plagues many students. It is difficult to learn, especially in those cases when you are not attracted or interested in the subject. The lack of concentration is also due to the excessive amount of substance that needs to be processed. Many additional questions arise when looking for solutions. Are you interested in the substance? Problems concentrating or organizing your learning time? Do you have problems with concentration because you think in advance that you will not be able to learn the material? So, are you actually bothered by anxiety / anxiety before the exam situation?

Can we prepare ourselves so that we can conquer the necessary substance quickly and with quality? When there is a lot of material, only this can lower our motivation. Less motivation prolongs the time it takes to conquer a particular substance. If we run out of time, new problems begin to appear, where in the extreme case we are overwhelmed by the feeling of despair and the tendency to unsubscribe from the exam deadline. That is why it is always important to set our goals well at the beginning. Good learning always starts with achievable and measurable goals that should be in line with our capabilities.

Goal setting

When setting goals, the disruptive factor must always be taken into account. These are factors that cause us to lack time uncontrollably and over which we have no influence. Learning planning and goal setting is especially recommended when planning breaks. This is especially important for people who have problems with concentration. Some research has shown that our body works most effectively in the first 20 minutes of the lecture, while the total duration of each set should not exceed 45 minutes, in extreme cases 60 minutes. After this time, a break of at least 5-10 minutes is recommended.

Disturbing factors

Everything that does not belong to the process of learning, are disturbing factors. If we have a phone, toys, various drinks with us during the learning process… all this subconsciously distracts us from the learning process, it affects the concentration and speed of memorizing the material. All distractions need to be removed from the learning process. If we want to conquer a certain substance quickly and with quality, it makes sense to remove all disturbing factors.

Routine

Routine is recommended when having problems with concentration. It’s a term for some recurring event. Learning at the same time in the same room is reccomended for best results. For some people it helps to prepare books, pens, notebooks and other material in advance and thus somehow “fit” into the learning situation. Others get help by quiet music, which is recommended especially for problem-solving activities (eg math), while some people need complete silence to learn (you can use earplugs).

Assisting with various techniques in organizing the material

Techniques for organizing the material include preparing abstracts and notes, drawing thought patterns, reading the text aloud, discussing with friends and like-minded people, preparing tables, thinking about the substance and its use in everyday life, etc.

Any technique of organizing material can help us remember better. Some people find it more helpful to prepare summaries and notes. These people are usually visual learners. Reading the text aloud and listening to music during memorization is typical of auditory learners in particular. It is characteristic of emotional learners, however, that they like to talk about the substance with their like-minded people.

Concentration exercises

Concentration exercises help us calm down before we start learning. These exercises are especially important for people who have serious difficulty concentrating. There are several exercises we can help ourselves with.

Relaxation, comfortable accommodation and the observation of an object or a specific point on the wall, can help us to achieve a better concentration. A very interesting and good exercise is to turn down the radio to a minimum and still try to understand all the words they say. An active listening exercise can also help us increase concentration. During a conversation with the interlocutor, we do not think about what our interlocutor is talking about. We concentrate only on the interlocutor itself, observe his face and gestures, tone and color of voice, and try to find out how the interlocutor feels. From this we then automatically try to figure out what he was talking about and just connect it to each other.

Breakthrough and change

There are a whole bunch of games online, and there are quite a few exercise books in libraries to improve memory. These are usually exercises in which it is necessary to look for similarities between the characters, discover interesting sequences, etc. Such games certainly include sudoku and crossword puzzle solving, and among computer games, Tetris performs this task very well. If we dedicate some time to these games during the break, our concentration will definitely increase during learning.

Every day something new

If we want to keep our brains in good shape, then it is definitely necessary to train our brains well. We can do this by teaching them something new every day. The point here is to change the routine, forcing the brain to start thinking differently. Our brain is the center of the nervous system and is the most complex organ. The cerebral cortex, which is the largest part of the brain, counts between 15 and 33 billion neurons in the average person. Each connects to thousands of other neurons through synapses. These neurons communicate with each other via neurites, which transmit the action potential to a distant part of the brain or to a target cell.

Learning and memory

Almost all animals are able to adapt their behavior based on experience, even the most primitive types of worms. Behavior is determined by brain activity, so changes in behavior result from changes in the brain. Theorists have argued since the Cajal period that learning and memory are the result of changes in synaptic connections. By 1970, the theory of synaptic plasticity lacked experimental evidence. In 1971, Tim Bliss and Terje Lømo published an article on a phenomenon now called long-term potentiation. The article provided clear evidence of synaptic changes that occurred due to neuronal activity and lasted for at least a few days. Since technical advances have facilitated experimental work, thousands of studies have been conducted to elucidate the mechanism of synaptic changes and to reveal other types of activity-induced synaptic changes in various brain areas, including the cerebral cortex, hippocampus, basal ganglia, and cerebellum.

How can we help each other?

In our company we spend a lot of time researching medicinal plants, especially hemp and its extracts. If we connect the right plants in the right synergy, their effect can be significantly increased. With our own knowledge, we have developed Hemp CBD drops with terpenes for better focus and concentration. They are intended for people who have learning difficulties. Consuming drops Focus increases concentration, which has already been confirmed by many users of the product.
