Having trouble sleeping?

Quality sleep is one of the most important factors for a quality life. On average, we sleep one third of our time in life. Quality sleep fills us with energy, renews our cells and has a beneficial effect on our well-being while we are awake. Good sleep is certainly one of the most important factors in a healthy body.

It is estimated that the problem of insomnia is faced by an increasing number of people, and the causes are different, usually a combination of several causes, which may be interconnected, may be physiological or psychological in nature. The most common causes include stress, depression, anxiety, pain, but the cause can also be in the "biological clock" or. circadian rhythm. Circadian rhythms regulate biological processes in most known organisms. They are important for the coordinated adaptation of all cellular processes to changing conditions during the day, which in higher organisms also affects higher functions (for example, the cycle of wakefulness and sleep). Some sleep disorders are caused by an abnormality in the internal clock, which in humans is located in the suprachiasmatic nucleus, the paired region of the hypothalamus.

If our balance in the body is disturbed, this can lead to the above-mentioned causes, and as a result we feel it as a poor sleep, waking up during the night, many sleepless nights, etc. The endocannabinoid system (ECS) in our body is the most important system that regulates all other systems (intestinal, immune, etc). If our endocannabinoid system is damaged, this can be reflected in many areas. Cannabinoids can help us with this, as they help our ECS to restore balance in the body.

What does the research say?

Research on positive effects of CBD on sleep disorders is currently in the preclinical research phase. Some people who use CBD for chronic pain report that they sleep much better. It is currently unclear whether these patients sleep better due to pain relief or because CBD directly affects their sleep, but it certainly has a positive effect on well-being and improved sleep.

Other studies investigating CBD for sleep disorders also show positive results. However, not everyone has the same sleep benefits when using CBD, and different doses can lead to different effects. Differences in experience can also be attributed to the route of administration of CBD and dose. Certainly, further research is needed to deepen our understanding of CBD as an intervention in sleep disorders. At the same time, it should also be mentioned that the terpenes present in cannabis are important in alleviating the problems, as well.

Recently, much more emphasis has been placed on research into the effects of terpenes on our well-being, while cannabinoids provide a synergistic effect ("entourage effect") and so using the right combination of terpenes can significantly improve sleep quality.

Chronic insomnia usually ends with a visit to a doctor who prescribes anti-insomnia medications. As a rule, these medicines have many side effects, which often include addiction, difficulty concentrating and a driving ban. On the other hand, cannabis has been used to relieve sleep problems for many years before synthetic drugs existed, and has become increasingly popular in recent years as an excellent and, above all, natural substitute for synthetic drugs. At the same time, user responses suggest a significant improvement in sleep. It should be noted that not all hemp products are suitable for better sleep. Therefore, it is important to know the terpene composition and effects of individual terpenes present in cannabis. And this is the area that we are currently focusing heavily on product development under the Hempethica brand.

What can we do ourselves?

Almost all of us have already faced sleep disorders. Insomnia is the most common type of sleep disorder. At Hempethica, we have developed special drops containing cannabinoids, terpenes and other cannabis ingredients. The right ratio of these ingredients is key to synergistic impact. We developed BIO SLEEPER hemp drops with the help of experts in the field of cannabinoids. We focused on cannabinoids and terpenes, which have sedative properties. We looked for varieties of cannabis that have such characteristics and, with the help of technology, processed them into hemp drops with terpenes for calming and better sleep. Hemp is organically grown and the product is certified as BIO. Our users are very satisfied with the product and come back, which means a lot to us. Take care of yourself and your health, your body will be grateful.
